The internet algorithm to popularity, does it matter at all...?

Understanding the flow of how it works will some how correspond to how human think in some sense. As people have started to talk and spend so much time on internet. The most accurate prediction for the person and his ideas might come up with his activity on his phone. 

If thriving for online attention or even real life situation. Providing the contents which you want to find on internet must also have enough bait strength to fish attention you desires.

Anyway human selfishly desires ideas that supports his desire and ideas to be right. Which in the case of family who he lives with everyday are bound to have several common thought and ideas even if not all of them. As they live in common environment and conditions. Also applying to friends and colleagues who have spent a long time in certain institution. We apply such bondings to be connection and relations, but solely it's the comfortability due to the period they've been together for, to the point of time they forget about peripheral conditions.

So anything or anyone resonating to a person exactly with contents which for him at so and so situation will be best compassionate to i.e. finds it to be relatable, generally such contents will be highly focused rather solely on him. Such individualized concept are already trend. 

Hence, putting all of this together; We can entitle it as a form of research. That'll help us learn about various things about ourselves, people, market trend, having basic understandings of the current time and even basic self rejuvenating feeding to our mind to brainstorm, if you have time and you want to think about random thoughts as I do.
